Send a file straight
to another device
The file goes directly from one browser to the other. We only hand the two of you a code so you can find each other.
- No account
- No upload
- No storage
- No tracking
- No relay
- Browser → Browser
Only send files you have the right to share. Transfers go directly between devices; xfrit never receives, views or stores your files. Terms
Did someone give you a code to send to?
If the person who wants the files made a code for you, choose the files above, enter their code here, and they go straight to them.
Works over a direct, encrypted connection between the two browsers. A small number of very locked-down networks block that outright — here is why we don’t route around it.
Nothing is uploaded
The file never reaches our server, so there is nothing for us to read, keep, lose or hand over. The connection log on this page shows you exactly what we do see: a six-character code and a few kilobytes of connection setup.
No size limit
There is no quota, because there is no storage on our side. Large incoming files are written to disk on the receiving device as they arrive, so they never have to fit in memory — or tick the folder option in Chrome or Edge to have them land straight in a folder you choose.
It picks itself back up
If the connection drops — a dead spot, a phone switching networks — both sides re-pair under the same code and carry on from the exact byte they stopped at. Nothing already sent is sent twice.
No relay, on purpose
Most services quietly route your file through a relay server when a direct connection fails. We don’t run one. On a network that blocks direct connections the transfer fails instead — which is the trade we made so that “we never receive your file” stays literally true. Why.
Text and links too
Type or paste a link, an address or a note into the box under the files — or just paste anywhere on the page. It arrives on the other screen ready to copy, with an Open button if it’s a link. Same direct connection, same check that it arrived intact.
Works between anything
iPhone to Windows, Android to Mac, work laptop to home desktop. Both ends just need a browser. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
